Community & Education
Children, Pets and Responsibilities
Pets have been loyal companions and trusted friends of humans for generations. Beyond companionship, responsible interaction with animals provides children with valuable opportunities to learn empathy, compassion, kindness, responsibility, communication and respect for life.
At V-Pet Care Animal Clinic and GAFOH – Global Alliance for Food and One Health, we promote age-appropriate learning about pet behaviour, safe handling, animal welfare, responsible pet ownership and the human–animal bond, with appropriate attention to public health and One Health principles.
In an increasingly digital generation, meaningful interaction with animals can help children develop a deeper understanding of living beings and the responsibilities that come with caring for them. We work with parents and communities to encourage children to learn through responsible pet ownership, helping them develop practical life skills, empathy and a sense of responsibility that can extend beyond animals into their relationships with people and the wider environment.
Our Goal
Our goal is not simply to teach children how to care for pets, but to help nurture a generation that understands, respects and cares for living beings.
